National Cooling Action Plan for Grenada

The National Cooling Action Plan (NCAP) provides analyses on space cooling mitigation in buildings to support Grenada's commitments under the Paris Agreement, the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol, and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

• Buildings and the refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) sector are significant contributors to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Grenada, with buildings accounting for 54% and the RAC sector accounting for approximately 29% of total national GHG emissions. Cooling demand is projected to rise due to higher temperatures, population growth, and improved standards of living.
• An enhanced ambition scenario for the building and RAC sectors, based on international technology and best practices, could lead to a 62% reduction in emissions from the building sector by 2050 when compared to a low ambition scenario, representing a 16% decrease from 2015 levels.
