• The Pipeline Project Management Team (PPMT) intended to make a final investment decision (FID) by the end of 2020. As of the meeting date, Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) was complete, and most land outside Turkana County had been surveyed and gazetted by the National Land Commission (NLC), with the exception of areas near Ijara in Garissa County.
• During the public meeting, community members raised concerns regarding the lack of formal land title deeds for community-owned land in Garissa and the potential loss of grazing lands and acacia trees. Project representatives stated that the pipeline would be buried to allow for grazing, and the National Land Commission (NLC) would follow the Community Land Act for land acquisition.
