Natural Justice says no to xenophobia

Natural Justice issued a statement condemning xenophobic attacks in South Africa, referencing both the 2008 violence and subsequent attacks in KwaZulu-Natal and other regions.

• The 2008 xenophobic violence in South Africa resulted in 62 deaths, 670 injuries, and the displacement of between 80,000 and 200,000 foreign nationals.
• Seven years after the 2008 events, xenophobic attacks occurred in South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal Province, specifically in Durban, leading to 6 deaths and further injuries and displacement. This violence subsequently spread to Johannesburg, Pietermaritzburg, and other areas of the country.
• Natural Justice condemns the attacks on foreign nationals and expresses support for anti-xenophobia initiatives led by the South African government and civil society.
