Étude sur l’analyse du niveau de pollution des déterminants environnementaux dans la zone d’implantation des ICS

This document introduces a study analyzing the pollution levels of environmental determinants in the area where the Industries Chimiques du Sénégal (ICS) operates, focusing on the impacts of phosphate mining and chemical production on the environment and local population health.

• The Industries Chimiques du Sénégal (ICS) operates a large-scale mining operation involving the extraction of phosphate and the manufacture of phosphoric acid and fertilizers. While the company is viewed as a significant driver of development and job creation, its activities are subject to national regulations intended to mitigate pollution of air, water, soil, and ecosystems caused by large-scale production.
• The study aims to analyze and evaluate how the activities of ICS impact the environment and the health of surrounding populations, emphasizing the need for preventive strategies to reduce negative effects on the physical, biophysical, and socio-economic environments of the implantation zone.
