Leveraging the NAP process

• Countries can reduce duplication of effort by cross-referencing NAP information in the A-BTR, using NAP progress reports to inform sections on implementation and lessons learned, or by using the A-BTR as their Adaptation Communication (AdCom).
• As of 2022, 139 developing countries have NAP processes underway; those that have not yet formally submitted a NAP can still utilize intermediate outputs—such as NAP Frameworks, roadmaps, or climate risk assessments—to inform their BTRs.
