Towards an Indicative List of FDI Sustainability Characteristics

The paper identifies ten core and twenty emerging characteristics of sustainable FDI, derived from a review of 150 instruments including international investment agreements and codes of multinational enterprises. It also examines mechanisms to implement these characteristics and their relevance to investment facilitation discussions.
