A Thriving Future

• Climate policies are most effective at promoting social and economic equity when they incorporate worker protections, specifically target lower-income populations, and involve equity-deserving stakeholders in the design of projects.
• The author recommends that the Canadian government integrate poverty and inequality analysis into future climate policy and link decarbonization funding to positive social outcomes to maximize social impact and mitigate negative effects.
