Plan de Actividades

The IAI's 2012-2013 plan includes the launch of CRN3, co-financing agreements with the NSF's PIRE program, and a MacArthur Foundation project on biodiversity in the tropical Andes. Capacity building events are scheduled for Chile, the Dominican Republic, and Ecuador, alongside an editorial forum in Buenos Aires. Administratively, the institute plans to move to Montevideo to address operational instability.

• The IAI is implementing several research initiatives, including the launch of CRN3, a new Small Grants program, and the continuation of a MacArthur Foundation-funded project examining climate change impacts on biodiversity in the tropical Andes.
• Capacity building activities for 2012-2013 include a workshop on adaptive water resource management in La Serena, Chile (October 8-17, 2012), two science-policy knowledge integration colloquia in the Dominican Republic and Ecuador, and an editorial forum with ECLAC in Buenos Aires (October 28-30) regarding cities and climate change.
• The IAI intends to resolve long-term operational instability within its Executive Direction, which has relied on volatile support staff and volunteers, by moving its operations to Montevideo during 2012/13.
