Programa anual (julio 2010 a junio 2011)

The IAI's annual plan for 2010-2011 focuses on four training institutes, scientific synthesis meetings, and the implementation of the MacArthur Project concerning Andean biodiversity. Key activities include training on seasonal climate predictions in Argentina, city responses to climate change in Chile, and land-use changes in Paraguay. The scientific program includes hydrology and climate modeling, as well as a new proposal to the MacArthur Foundation regarding climate impacts on tropical Andean biodiversity. • The IAI scheduled four training institutes between August 2010 and April 2011, covering seasonal climate predictions in Argentina, city responses to climate change in Chile, responsible conduct in global change science in Argentina, and land-use changes, biofuels, and rural development in the Río de la Plata basin in Paraguay.

• The MacArthur Project includes a specific effort to assess institutional and research needs to address climate change effects on biodiversity in Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia, with planned results dissemination and government visits in August 2010.
