A notification from the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research regarding the expiration of terms for members of the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) and the Science and Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC), with recommendations for renewals ahead of CoP-34.

• The second term of service for Dr. Alexander Turra, a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), will expire in May 2026. The SAC is required to present candidates for this position by April 30, 2026, for consideration during the CoP-34 meeting scheduled for June 3-4, 2026, via videoconference.
• The first terms of service for two SAC members designated by the Parties, Dr. Laura Ramajo and Dr. Pedro Laterra, expire in May 2026. Both are eligible for a second term if renominated by the Parties, and the Executive Direction strongly recommends their renewal.
• The first terms of service for three members of the Science and Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC) designated by the Parties—Carlos Joly, Gilma Mantilla, and Inty Arcos—expire in May 2026. They are eligible for a second term upon renomination, and the document strongly recommends the Parties support their renewal to maintain current membership quotas and ensure efficiency.
