N O T I F I C A T I O N

The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research notifies Parties that the terms of several members of the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) and Science-Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC) expire in May 2026. The Directorate recommends the renewal of terms for Dr. Laura Ramajo, Dr. Pedro Laterra, Carlos Joly, Gilma Mantilla, and Inty Arcos. Additionally, the SAC will submit candidates to replace Dr. Alexander Turra by 30 April 2026 for consideration at CoP-34 on 3–4 June 2026.

• The second term of Dr. Alexander Turra on the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) ends in May 2026. The SAC is scheduled to submit candidates for consideration by 30 April 2026 for the CoP-34 meeting, which will take place via videoconference on 3–4 June 2026.
• The first terms of two SAC members appointed by the Parties, Dr. Laura Ramajo (the current Vice-Chair) and Dr. Pedro Laterra, conclude in May 2026. The Directorate strongly recommends that Parties support the renewal of their terms, as both are eligible for a second term.
• The first terms of three members of the Science-Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC) appointed by the Parties—Carlos Joly, Gilma Mantilla, and Inty Arcos—end in May 2026. These members are eligible for second terms, and the Directorate strongly recommends that Parties support their renewal to maintain the current membership quota and avoid the need for new nominations.
