A briefing from the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research notifying parties of re-nominations and new nominations for the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) and the Science-Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC) ahead of the Thirty-Fourth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP-34).

• The Directorate has received re-nominations for the Science-Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC) consisting of Carlos Joly (Brazil), Gilma Mantilla (Colombia), and Inty Arcos (Ecuador), and for the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) consisting of Laura Ramajo (Chile) and Pedro Laterra (Argentina).
• The SAC has proposed two new Titular Members to fill vacancies: Shaneica Lester, an early-career researcher from the Caribbean specializing in Small Island Developing States (SIDS), climate adaptation, food systems, and water security; and Juan Camilo Cárdenas, an environmental economist from Colombia specializing in governance of the commons and experimental economics.
• The SAC has proposed Jeannette Ma. Arauz Muñoz, a professional from Central America with experience in education and disaster risk reduction, as an Alternate Member.
• The Conference of the Parties is scheduled to meet virtually on 3–4 June 2026 for CoP-34 to consider and approve these renewals and new nominations.
