The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) Directorate has announced the approval of Panama's proposal to host its headquarters and released the draft report of the 2024 Extraordinary Meeting of the Conference of the Parties for review.

• The Conference of the Parties has approved a proposal for Panama to host the headquarters of the IAI Directorate. The IAI Directorate states that Panama's leadership in regional and international science-policy and its connectivity across the Americas will support the institute's mission.
• The draft report of the 2024 Extraordinary Meeting of the Conference of the Parties is available for review and comment until 2 May 2024. The report consists of a summary of proceedings in Section I and Decision 2024/Extra-CoP/1 in Section II.
• The IAI Directorate acknowledged Uruguay for hosting the headquarters for the previous 10 years, noting that the resources provided were instrumental for operations and collaborations in the Southern Cone region and across the Americas.
