Nominaciones de las Partes para el SAC

A briefing from the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) requesting nominations from Parties to fill two vacancies on its Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) by April 19, 2024.

• Two positions on the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) will become vacant in June 2024 following the expiration of the first mandates of members Anahí Urquiza and Omar R. López. New members will be elected during the Conference of the Parties on May 22 and 23, 2024, via videoconference.
• The SAC is specifically seeking candidates with expertise in two areas: a scientist specializing in Terrestrial Ecosystems for Natural Sciences, and a scientist with experience in Economics and/or Development Studies for Social Sciences.
• The nomination process aims to address a current underrepresentation of Central America and the Caribbean within the SAC, while adhering to IAI policies on Gender, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
• Candidates must meet strict scientific excellence criteria, including holding a PhD or equivalent, possessing an extensive record of research and publications, and demonstrating experience managing international scientific projects relevant to IAI strategic areas.
• Nominations, including a brief curriculum vitae, must be submitted to the IAI Executive Direction (specifically to Ms. Soledad Noya) no later than April 19, 2024.
