Parties nominations for the SAC

The IAI Science Advisory Committee (SAC) is seeking nominations from Parties to fill two vacancies occurring in June 2024, specifically for experts in Terrestrial Ecosystems and Economics and/or Development Studies. The committee emphasizes the need for international scientific recognition, academic excellence, and a commitment to balanced representation, noting a current underrepresentation of Central America and the Caribbean.

• Two SAC member terms nominated by the Parties will expire in June 2024, and nominations for these vacancies must be submitted by 19 April 2024 for election at the Conference of the Parties on 22-23 May 2024.
• The SAC is specifically seeking a scientist specializing in Terrestrial Ecosystems for the Natural Sciences and a scientist with expertise in Economics and/or Development Studies for the Social Sciences.
• The committee aims to address a current lack of representation from Central America and the Caribbean while adhering to the IAI's policy on Gender, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
