N O T I F I C A T I O N

The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) is soliciting expressions of interest from member parties to host its Directorate, following informal discussions with Uruguay and a formal expression of interest from Panama.

• The IAI Directorate is currently engaged in informal discussions with the Government of Uruguay regarding the hosting of the Directorate in Montevideo, based on Article XIV of the Agreement establishing the Institute.
• On 6 December 2023, Panama communicated its interest to the Chair of the IAI Executive Council, Dr. Maria Uhle, to enter negotiations about potentially hosting the IAI Directorate.
• The IAI has invited interested Parties to submit expressions of interest to host the Directorate to Dr. Maria Uhle and Mrs. Soledad Noya by 10 January 2023, after which Parties will be invited to submit full proposals.
