The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research announced nominations for the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) and the Science and Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC). Candidates from Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, and Brazil were nominated. An ad-hoc committee will be formed on June 21, 2023, at CoP-31 to evaluate these candidates and make recommendations.

• Nominations were received for vacancies in the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) and the Science and Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC). For the SAC vacancy for Parties, Pedro Laterra (Argentina) and Laura Ramajo (Chile) were nominated. No nominations were received for the SAC vacancy for IAI Associates. For the three SPAC vacancies for Parties, nominations were received for Inty Arcos (Ecuador), Gilma Mantilla (Colombia), and Carlos Joly (Brasil).
• An ad-hoc committee will be established on June 21, 2023, during the first day of CoP-31 to evaluate and recommend candidates to the CoP-31, including determining which of the two SAC candidates should be considered for the alternate member vacancy.
