Nominaciones para el SPAC por las Partes

The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) is requesting nominations from Parties to fill vacancies in the Science and Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC) and the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) ahead of the 31st Conference of the Parties in June 2023.

• The IAI is seeking nominations to replace three members of the Science and Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC) whose terms end in June 2023. Vacancies will be filled during the 31st meeting of the Conference of the Parties in Panama City, Panama, from June 21 to 22, 2023.
• For the SPAC, the IAI identifies South America and the Caribbean as underrepresented geographic regions. The current committee consists of four women and two men. Desired areas of expertise include biodiversity governance, agricultural policy, economics, scientific diplomacy, and indigenous peoples and local communities.
• The IAI is seeking a nomination to replace one member of the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) whose term expires in June 2023. The current SAC composition is seven women and four men, with the Caribbean and the Tropical Andes identified as underrepresented regions.
• Desired specializations for the SAC include social transformations, informatics, big data and artificial intelligence, economics, and agriculture and soils.
