A notification from the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) regarding the establishment of a Gender, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee following decisions made at the 30th meeting of the Conference of the Parties.

• During its 30th meeting held from June 14 to 15, 2022, the Conference of the Parties adopted Decision XXX/5, which approves the Gender, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy for IAI scientific projects and capacity development activities.
• The Conference of the Parties adopted Decision XXX/6 to establish a Gender, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee. This committee, supported by the IAI Executive Directorate and in collaboration with the SAC, SPAC, and Associates, is tasked with implementing the aforementioned policy and reporting progress at the 31st meeting of the Conference of the Parties.
• The current membership of the Gender, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee includes Argentina, Canada, the United States, Mexico, Panama, the Dominican Republic, and the executive director of the Belmont Forum. Discussions for the committee are expected to begin in early November 2022.
