NOTIFICATION

The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) is seeking feedback by 22 April 2022 on a new Policy on Gender, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) for its scientific projects and capacity building. The policy aims to promote gender balance and the participation of underrepresented groups in science across the Americas, with the final version to be submitted at COP-30 in Montevideo.

• The proposed Policy on Gender, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion aims to establish standards for gender balance and EDI within IAI scientific projects, capacity building, and other initiatives to ensure the full and equitable participation of underrepresented groups.
• The IAI identifies several intended outcomes of the EDI initiative, including the reduction of bias and imbalances in activity implementation, the mainstreaming of EDI in IAI activities, and the promotion of gender balance in science across the Americas.
• The IAI Directorate requested that Parties submit contributions, comments, or suggestions regarding the policy to Ms. Soledad Noya by 22 April 2022, prior to the policy's submission at COP-30 in Montevideo in 2022.
