This notification from the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) outlines the nominations received for two vacancies on the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) and the electronic voting procedure for the 29th Conference of the Parties (CoP-29).

• The deadline for submitting nominations for the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) was May 20, 2021. Nominations for the two available vacancies were received from Chile (Dr. Anahi Verónica Josefina Urquiza Gómez and Dr. Pablo A. Marquet), Guatemala (Dr. Hugo Antonio Tobías Vasquez and Dr. Alex Alí Guerra Noriega), Peru (Dr. Wilson Alfredo Suarez Alayza), and Panama (Dr. Omar R. López Alfano).
• Due to CoP-29 being held via videoconference (Zoom), the IAI Executive Directorate established an email address (elections@dir.iai.int) as an alternative to the secret ballot required by Rule 60 of the Conference of the Parties Regulations.
• Accredited Parties participating in CoP-29 may vote for two candidates by emailing the designated address between June 1, 2021, and June 21, 2021, at 12 PM UYT. The Executive Director will forward these messages to two designated scrutineers on June 23, 2021, for validation.
