The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) notified parties that the Senate of Argentina issued a Declaration on 15 October 2020 recognizing the importance of a 2019 seminar focused on integrating global change knowledge into decision-making processes within the La Plata Basin.

• The Senate of Argentina issued a Declaration on 15 October 2020 recognizing the importance of the IAI seminar titled "Integrating global change knowledge to decision-making processes in La Plata Basin: a transdisciplinary approach," which took place from 8 to 14 September 2019 in Santa Fe, Argentina.
• The seminar was designed to train scientists, policy makers, and professionals on global change, specifically focusing on how science can assist in creating effective policies for natural resource use and sustainable agriculture in the La Plata region.
• The event was organized by the IAI and the Facultad de Ingeniería y Ciencias Hídricas (FICH) of the Universidad Nacional del Litoral (UNL), with collaboration from the UNESCO Chair in Water and Education for Sustainable Development and the World Metereological Organization's Regional Office for the Americas.
