The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) announced the election results from its 28th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP-28) held on August 19, 2020. The notification lists the members of the Executive Council for 2020–2022, with the United States as president, and names the newly elected members of the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) and the Science and Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC).

• The 28th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP-28) elected the Executive Council members for the 2020–2022 term, which include Canada, Chile, Jamaica, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, the United States, and Uruguay. Within this council, the United States was elected president, Panama was elected 1st vice president, and Uruguay was elected 2nd vice president.
• The IAI elected members to the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), including Dr. Tereza Cavazos, Dr. Inés Camilloni, Dr. Alexander Turra, Dr. Patricia Balvanera, Dr. Jean Paul Metzger, and alternate members Dr. Michelle Scobie and Dr. Mercy J. Borbor.
• The IAI elected members to the Science and Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC), including President Dr. Brigitte Baptiste, Dr. Walter Baethgen, Dr. Javier Gracia-Garza, Dr. Evelia Rivera Arriaga, Karen de Oliveira Silverwood Cope, Dr. David Smith, and Dr. Vaughan Turekian.
