The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) and the State University of Medicine are collaborating on the health component of the Caribbean Regional Pathway of the Climate Resilience Pilot Programme (PPRC), a project funded by the Strategic Climate Fund (SCF) to integrate climate risk and resilience into development planning for highly vulnerable countries.

• The health component of the Caribbean Regional Pathway of the Climate Resilience Pilot Programme (PPRC) involves conducting surveys in Haiti, Jamaica, and Saint Lucia to analyze the social, epidemiological, and clinical role of gender in the spread of dengue, chikungunya, and zika viruses. This research is intended to support the creation of early warning systems to mitigate risks from mosquito-borne diseases linked to climate change and variability.
• The project is scheduled to run from March 25 to December 17, 2020. It is implemented within the framework of the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) in the Caribbean via the University of the West Indies' Office of Research and Innovation in Mona, in collaboration with the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA).
