The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) announces that the General Assembly of the Ibero-American Program of Science and Technology for Development (CYTED) has approved IAI's request to participate as an observer organization.

• The General Assembly of the Ibero-American Program of Science and Technology for Development (CYTED), meeting in Chiclayo, Peru, from November 18 to 19, 2019, unanimously approved the IAI's request to join as an observer organization.
• CYTED supports the Ibero-American region by creating cooperative mechanisms for scientific research and technological innovation intended to improve production systems and social policies, with funding available for private sector entities, research and development centers, and universities in member countries.
• The partnership between IAI and CYTED, which shares focal points across 21 member countries (specifically representatives of national science and technology councils), is expected to foster joint activities in science and capacity building and provide mutual funding opportunities.
