A notification from the Executive Director of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) regarding outstanding financial contributions from member Parties following decisions made at the 26th Conference of the Parties in Antigua, Guatemala.

• The 26th Conference of the Parties in Antigua, Guatemala, adopted three decisions regarding funding: Decision XXVI/3 urges Parties to submit Operating Budget contributions punctually and encourages extraordinary contributions; Decision XXVI/4 requests contributions be sent by the end of the previous year or the start of the calendar year; and Decision XXVI/7 encourages extra-budgetary monetary resources to support the IAI's scientific agenda, capacity development program, and other non-operating budget activities.
• As of July 24, 2018, 11 Parties are delayed in sending their contributions, with 7 of those Parties having a delay of three years or more. The Executive Directorate states that this lack of funding is compromising its ability to fulfill its mandate and carry out its activities.
