The Executive Directorate of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) is developing an open data policy and principles following a decision by the Conference of the Parties (CoP25) in Bogotá, 2017. To support this, the IAI is collaborating with Uruguay's Agency for Electronic Government and Information and Knowledge Society (AGESIC) to use its open data catalog as a basis for developing a similar system for IAI Member Countries, with results to be presented at CoP26.

• During the CoP25 meeting in Bogotá in 2017, the Conference of the Parties adopted Decision XXV/6, which mandates the Executive Directorate to define and establish open data policy and principles for the Institute, referencing the Data Policy approved by IAI CoP 2. This document is scheduled for presentation at the subsequent CoP.
• The IAI Executive Directorate is collaborating with Uruguay's Agency for Electronic Government and Information and Knowledge Society (AGESIC) to utilize AGESIC's existing open data catalog. This partnership aims to provide information on the development, implementation, and administration requirements needed to create a similar system for IAI Member Countries and to inform the IAI's open data policy and principles, with findings to be presented at CoP26.
