The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) is inviting representatives of its Parties to review and provide input on an updated version of the IAI Open Access to Data and Publications Policy by December 13, 2024.

• The IAI is conducting a participatory update of its Open Access to Data and Publications Policy to align with the global evolution of open science tools and concepts. This effort is part of Activity 1.2 of the Open Data Work Plan for the 2024-2025 biennium, following the creation of the Open Data Working Group in 2023.
• The IAI has a history of open data policies, starting with its first policy in 1995. Subsequent updates were driven by the 25th Conference of the Parties (CoP) in Bogota (2017) and the 26th CoP in Guatemala (2018), which adopted the Open Data Policies and Principles for the IAI (Decision XXVI/45) to facilitate free exchange between Parties, Principal Investigators, and other stakeholders.
• The current updated version of the policy has already undergone review by IAI Executive Directorate staff and the Science and Science-Policy Advisory Committees (SAC and SPAC). Representatives of the Parties are now invited to submit their input by December 13, 2024.
