The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) has issued a notification inviting representatives of its member Parties to review and contribute to the updated Open Access Policy for Data and Publications by December 13, 2024.

• The IAI is currently updating its Open Access Policy for Data and Publications as part of activity 1.2 of its 2024-2025 Work Plan, which was developed by the Open Data Working Group created in 2023.
• The IAI has a history of open data policies dating back to 1995, with subsequent updates mandated by the Conference of the Parties (CoP) at its 25th meeting in Bogotá (2017) and the adoption of new policies and principles at the 26th CoP in Guatemala (2018) under Decision XXVI/45.
• The current draft of the updated Open Access Policy for Data and Publications has already undergone review by the IAI Executive Directorate staff and the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) and the Science-Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC).
• Representatives of the Parties are invited to submit their contributions and comments on the updated policy by December 13, 2024.
