This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed on September 19, 2023, establishes a framework for cooperation in science, technology, and innovation between the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) and the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII), both based in Montevideo, Uruguay.

• The parties identified six specific modalities for cooperation: facilitating training and mobility for researchers; exchanging experiences regarding research programs; facilitating ANII's participation in the Belmont Forum; conducting joint calls for the StepFellows program; working on common institutional challenges; and any other agreed-upon modalities.
• The agreement specifies that the execution of the MoU is subject to the budget availability of each party and does not constitute a commitment for future fiscal years or additional economic obligations.
• The MoU is valid for a period of four years from the date of signing and will be automatically renewed for an equal period. Either party may terminate the agreement with six months' written notice.
