Action List

The Action List from the Twenty-Third meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), held in Lima, Peru, on June 24-25, 2015, details administrative decisions, elections, and strategic planning for the institute.

• The CoP elected the Bureau for its Twenty Third Session, consisting of José Macharé (Peru) as Chair, Rebecca Plumadore (Canada) as First Vice-Chair, and Jean-Pierre Ometto (Brazil) as Second Vice-Chair.
• Nine delegations submitted official credentials to participate in the Conference: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú, United States, and Uruguay. A quorum requires eight accredited Parties.
• The CoP approved several financial and operational documents for the 2015-2016 fiscal year, including the Core Budget Request, the Annual Plan, and the unchanged level of country contributions.
• The CoP endorsed the IAI's participation in Future Earth, provided there is an equitable association between global and regional entities and flexibility for future design.
• The CoP established a working group to define an open science work plan for the IAI, comprising the Directorate and representatives from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, and the USA.
