Aprobada Conferencia de las Partes (CoP) del IAI Vigésima cuarta reunión

The document records the decisions and actions taken during the twenty-fourth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), held in Santiago, Chile, on June 14-15, 2016.

• The CoP established the leadership for its twenty-fourth session, appointing Gladys Santis of Chile as President, Fernando Mendez Gaona of Paraguay as First Vice President, and Kate Vogt of Canada as Second Vice President.
• The CoP approved several financial and operational documents for the 2016-2017 fiscal year, including the Operating Budget, the level of country contributions (which remained unchanged), and the Annual Plan.
• The selection process for the Executive Director initiated in 2015 was halted due to procedural errors. The CoP accepted a profile model proposed by the USA for the new Director and decided to amend the IAI Creation Agreement to extend the Director's contract term to 4 years, renewable once.
• The CoP appointed new members to the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), including Elena Abraham, Joshua Tewksbury, Susana Adamo, and Reynaldo Victoria, and to the Strategic Planning Advisory Committee (SPAC), including Luis Basterra, Gilberto Camara, and Yolanda Kakabadse.
• Colombia was selected to host the next Executive Council (EC) and Conference of the Parties (CoP) meetings.
