Decisions

The document records the decisions made during the Seventeenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), held in Brasilia, Brazil, on 9-10 June 2010.

• The CoP elected a Bureau for its Seventeenth Meeting consisting of Maria Virginia Alves (Brazil) as Chair, Paul Filmer (USA) as First Vice-Chair, and Carlos Ereño (Argentina) as Second Vice-Chair.
• The CoP approved several financial and administrative items, including the Auditor's report for the years ending June 30, 2008 and 2009, the Financial Statements for FY 2009-2010, the Core Budget Request for FY 2010-2011, the level of Country Contributions for FY 2010-2011, and the Annual Program for FY 2010-2011.
• The CoP established leadership and membership for strategic and advisory bodies, deciding that the IAI Director would lead the Strategic Planning process and electing Carolina Vera, Claudia Natenzon, Ramon Pichs, Silvio Pantoja, and Harold Mooney to the Scientific Advisory Committee. Additionally, the Executive Committee (EC) members for the next two years were elected as Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Paraguay, and USA.
