Beneficios y oportunidades IAI

This fact sheet outlines the benefits, opportunities, and resources available to Paraguay as a member country of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), focusing on scientific diplomacy, research funding, and institutional participation.

• Paraguay's engagement with the IAI includes the co-design of an environmental observatory in the Cuenca del Plata, with the Centro de Investigación del Cambio Global (CICAG) of the Universidad Nacional de Asunción serving as an associate and the Universidad Nacional de Asunción acting as a national representative on the Executive Council.
• The IAI provides several capacity-building and training opportunities in scientific diplomacy, including a workshop on drought resilience in Paraguay from May 26-28, 2025, and previous training for decision-makers in Panama (October 16-21, 2023) and a workshop with the Coiba Scientific Station (June 24-25, 2024).
