SCIENCE DIPLOMACY CENTER

This fact sheet outlines the engagement of Jamaica with the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), detailing national representatives, project funding, and participation in science diplomacy training and committees.

• Jamaica's national representation within the IAI includes the University of the West Indies, the National Commission on Science and Technology (NCST), and the Ministry of Science, Energy, Telecommunications and Transport (MSETT).
• The IAI provided a US$15,000 Seed Grant in Climate, Environment, and Health for the Americas to fund a project titled 'Climate-Health-Environment Nexus Risk in the ‘Shared Economy’ Hotel Sector: Assessment and Risk Reduction Planning'. This project involves a team comprising the University of Delaware (USA), University of Technology (Jamaica), Ministry of Environment and Climate Change – Government of Guyana, and the American Chamber of Commerce (Trinidad and Tobago).
