Beneficios y oportunidades IAI País Miembro del IAI: Bolivia

This fact sheet outlines the benefits and opportunities available to Bolivia as a member country of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), detailing specific funded projects, fellowship programs, and institutional resources.

• Bolivia has participated in IAI-funded research seed funds, including a US$ 15,000 project titled “Clima, ambiente y salud para las Américas” focused on the Ayllu resilience mechanism to face climate change effects, and a US$ 30,000 project titled “Bosques tropicales: implicaciones globales y acciones urgentes” regarding participatory mapping for a sustainable Amazon.
• Bolivian institutions and individuals are involved in various IAI initiatives, including the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés, which is part of the team for the "Co-diseño de un observatorio ambiental en la Cuenca del Plata" and the "Programa Hidroclimático Regional para los Andes (Andex)". Additionally, Fany Ramos Quispe of the Autoridad Plurinacional de la Madre Tierra served as a STeP program fellow from 2022 to 2024.
• IAI member countries have access to several resources and opportunities, including the Science, Technology, and Policy (STeP) Fellows program for early and mid-career public officials, free self-managed courses on the IAI Virtual Campus, and the ability to nominate members for the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), the Science and Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC), and the Indigenous Peoples Advisory Committee (IPAC).
