ACORDO DE COOPERAÇÃO PARA PESQUISA ENTRE A FUNDAÇÃO DE AMPARO À PESQUISA DO ESTADO DE SÃO PAULO E O INSTITUTO INTERAMERICANO PARA PESQUISA EM MUDANÇAS GLOBAIS

This document is a research cooperation agreement between the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), establishing FAPESP as an Associate of the IAI to enhance scientific networking and research on global environmental change in the Americas.

• The agreement establishes a framework for FAPESP to become an Associate of the IAI, aiming to create a structure for identifying specific collaboration areas and to strengthen the scientific network and research regarding global changes across the Americas.
• The signatories commit to collaborating on global environmental change and its impacts on human well-being through several specific activities, including promoting regional research, developing scientific agendas, coordinating research funding (such as joint calls for proposals), supporting young scientists via scholarships, and facilitating researcher exchanges.
• A Management Committee, consisting of two representatives from each signatory, will be appointed to oversee the coordination of activities and evaluate the progress of the collaboration.
• The agreement mandates that all data and publications resulting from funded work under this cooperation must be freely and openly available, provided there is proper attribution of authorship and funding.
• The agreement is valid for a period of 10 years from the date of signing, with the possibility of extension via written Additive Terms or termination by either party with six months' written notice.
