• To fund the core budget, the IAI proposes increasing country contributions by 20% for 2024-2025 and by 5% in the following years. The Directorate notes that its ability to meet operational responsibilities is currently under pressure due to non-payment or delayed payments from some Parties.
• The IAI Directorate has implemented cost-reduction measures by streamlining staff responsibilities and utilizing consultancies for temporary specialized services to avoid the costs of full-time staff. Additionally, the Republic of Korea provided internships for six months, which aided the Science, Technology and Policy (STeP) Fellowship and the recording of scientific article data.
