Donors' session

This briefing document, prepared by the IAI Directorate for the fifty-fourth meeting of the Executive Council on 15 November 2022, outlines the necessary actions and updates following decisions adopted at the 30th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP-30).

• The IAI Directorate is tasked with keeping the Executive Council Chair and the Financial and Administrative Committee (FAC) updated regarding country contributions and any extraordinary expenses that could affect the core budget for the 2022-2023 fiscal year.
• A Selection Committee for the post of Executive Director was established on 9 September 2022, following a notification sent to Parties on 15 August 2022. The vacancy announcement was published on 13 September 2022, with an application deadline of 1 November 2022. Current committee members include the Executive Council Chair, the Director of the Belmont Forum, the Chairs of the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) and Science-Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC), and representatives from Brazil, Canada, Chile, Guatemala, and Panama.
• A Gender and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee has been formed to implement activities under the IAI's policy for Scientific Projects and Capacity Building Activities. Membership currently consists of Argentina, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, the United States, and the Executive Director of the Belmont Forum, with discussions scheduled to begin in early November 2022.
• A steering committee is being established to advise on the development of the IAI Center for Science Diplomacy. Brazil, Chile, Panama, and the United States of America expressed interest in participating, alongside six experts and two members of the SAC and SPAC. The committee's first meeting is scheduled for 11 to 13 November 2022 in Punta del Este, Uruguay.
