Sede de la Dirección Ejecutiva del Instituto Interamericano para la Investigación del Cambio Global

This briefing document provides an update on the establishment of the new headquarters for the Executive Directorate of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), detailing current operations in Panama and the status of the formal Headquarters Agreement.

• The IAI Executive Directorate is currently operating from temporary offices in the City of Knowledge, Clayton, Panama, which opened in September 2024. Permanent offices in the same location are expected to be fully operational following the formalization of a Headquarters Agreement between the IAI and Panama's National Secretariat for Science and Technology (SENACYT), anticipated after a SENACYT Board meeting on April 25, 2025.
• While administrative operations are transitioning to Panama, the IAI's financial operations will continue to be managed from Uruguay until a bank account can be opened in Panama.
