Headquarters of the Directorate of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research

This report provides an update on the establishment of the permanent headquarters for the Directorate of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) in Panama.

• The IAI Directorate is currently operating from temporary offices at the City of Knowledge in Clayton, Panama, which opened in September 2024. The Directorate is collaborating with Panama's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Secretariat of Science and Technology (SENACYT) to establish permanent offices.
• The permanent offices in Clayton, Panama, will become fully operational once the Host Agreement between the IAI and SENACYT is finalized, which is expected following a SENACYT Board of Directors meeting on 25 April 2025.
• IAI financial operations will continue to be based in Uruguay until a bank account is opened in Panama.
