Decisión XXVIII/4: Evaluación Anual de Desempeño del Director Ejecutivo del IAI

This briefing document, prepared by the President of the Executive Council of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), outlines the process for the annual performance evaluation of the IAI Executive Director as required by the Agreement for the Creation of the IAI and Decision XXVIII/4.

• The Executive Council is mandated by Article VI, paragraph 4b of the Agreement for the Creation of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research to ensure the Executive Director implements policies adopted by the Conference of the Parties.
• Decision XXVIII/4, adopted during the 28th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP-28) in 2020, instructs the Executive Council to conduct an annual performance evaluation of the Executive Director and report the findings at each Conference of the Parties.
• The President of the Executive Council met with the Executive Director on April 13, 2021, to evaluate performance for the 2020-2021 intersessional period, and will present the results orally during the 29th meeting of the Conference of the Parties.
