Decisiones XXVIII/7 y XXVIII/8: Invitación a Mitacs a convertirse en Asociado del IAI

This briefing document from the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) updates the Conference of the Parties on the implementation of Decisions XXVIII/7 and XXVIII/8 regarding the invitation of Mitacs Canada to become an Associate of the IAI.

• Following Decisions XXVIII/7 and XXVIII/8, the IAI Executive Directorate sent an invitation letter to Mitacs on September 14, 2020, to become an Associate of the Institute.
• The IAI and Mitacs have agreed to a Memorandum of Understanding to define collaborative work, specifically focusing on science diplomacy and the IAI's Science, Technology and Policy (STeP) Fellowship Program.
• The signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation is intended to be finalized before the 29th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP-29), which was scheduled as a videoconference in 2021.
