The IAI briefing evaluates options to increase member contributions, which have stagnated at US$5,000 since 1992 and lost 45% of their value. It also compares current staff post-adjustments (25.01%) to the UN rate for Montevideo (42.7%). Despite these gaps, the IAI recommends maintaining current levels due to the economic difficulties of member parties.

• Since the Agreement entered into force in 1992, contributions for most Parties have remained at US$5,000, resulting in a loss of approximately 45% of purchasing power by January 2019. To address this, the document proposes three options: maintaining the US$5,000 level, increasing it to US$7,250 to maintain the original purchasing power, or increasing it to US$9,000 to increase purchasing power.
• The IAI Executive Directorate currently uses a post adjustment of 25.01% (including inflation) for professional staff salaries. However, the United Nations International Civil Service Commission's post adjustment for Montevideo, Uruguay, as of April 2019, is 42.7%.
• Due to the economic challenges facing many IAI Parties, the Finance and Administration Committee and the Executive Directorate recommend against requesting increases in contributions or adjusting professional staff salaries at this time, suggesting that both remain at current levels.
