Nominación de candidatos al SAC por las Partes

A briefing from the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) regarding the nomination of candidates to fill two vacancies on the committee during the 27th Conference of the Parties in June 2019.

• Two members of the SAC, Dr. Elena Maria Abraham and Dr. Joshua Tewksbury, will complete their first terms in June 2019 and are eligible for reelection if nominated by a Party.
• The SAC specifies that candidates for the vacancies must possess high academic standards, a PhD or equivalent experience, and a strong record of research and publications. They should be multidisciplinary, experienced in managing international scientific projects, and knowledgeable about the social, economic, and ecological realities of the Americas.
• For the 2019 nominations, the SAC specifically recommends candidates with expertise in ecosystem services, oceanography, and general social sciences, and encourages nominations from underrepresented groups.
