Informe de la Dirección Ejecutiva

This report from the Executive Director of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) informs the Conference of the Parties (CoP) about the implementation of Decision XXVI/19 regarding the merger of various administrative and scientific directorates.

• Following Decision XXVI/19 adopted at the 26th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP-26) in Antigua in 2018, the IAI Executive Director merged the operations of the Science-Policy Liaison Directorate in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with the Directorate of Integrated Finance and Operations in July 2018.
• The IAI determined that establishing the Scientific Development Directorate was unnecessary based on the decisions made during CoP-26, and Brazil was notified of this outcome.
• The integration of the Science-Policy Liaison Directorate's operations was completed without interrupting services or advice provided to the Parties, with responsibilities for these activities being taken over by the Science-Policy Program Officer.
