Informe del Comité Asesor Científico (SAC)

This briefing report from the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research outlines the committee's activities, membership updates, and planned meetings leading up to the 26th Conference of the Parties (CoP-26) in June 2018.

• The Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) serves as the primary scientific advisory body for the Institute, tasked with providing recommendations to the Conference of the Parties regarding the annual program, long-term plans, and the Scientific Agenda.
• Between sessions, the SAC's primary activity was assisting the Executive Direction in launching the Small Grants Programme on the role of ecosystem services in global change adaptation for human well-being (SGP-HW) and its evaluation protocol, which was announced on March 1, 2018.
• SAC members participated in several international activities between 2017 and 2018, including a professional development seminar on transdisciplinary approaches in Canada (October 3-7, 2017), a CRN3 meeting in Mexico, and a workshop on clean energy and sustainable agriculture in Uruguay (April 26, 2018).
• The SAC scheduled meetings for June 17 and 18, 2018, in Antigua, Guatemala, to evaluate SGP-HW pre-proposals and discuss new global change research areas, specifically regarding CRN4 proposals and strengthening activities in Central America and the Caribbean.
