Report of the Financial and Administrative Committee

The Report of the Financial and Administrative Committee (FAC), prepared by the United States as Chair, reviews the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) 2018-2019 core budget request and administrative matters for the Conference of the Parties.

• The FAC recommends that the Executive Council forward the IAI's core budget request for the upcoming fiscal year to the Council of the Parties for approval. The budget maintains expenses at approximately $1,400,000 and proposes no increase in contributions from member countries.
• The FAC supports the IAI's proposal to transition to the United Nations pay scale, although it notes that the current budget environment may make this implementation impossible.
• The audit report for the 2016-17 fiscal year provided an unqualified opinion, stating that the IAI's financial statements fairly presented the organization's financial position in all material respects.
• The FAC is a subcommittee of the Executive Council open to all member countries, currently composed of a representative from the United States and the IAI Financial and Administrative Officer (ex officio).
