Decision XXV/22: Access to official IAI documents

This briefing from the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) Directorate reports on the implementation of Decision XXV/22 regarding public access to official documents and the introduction of a standardized numbering system for IAI records.

• Following Decision XXV/22 adopted at the 25th meeting in Bogota in 2017, the IAI Directorate made documents from the EC, CoP, SAC, and SPAC available on the IAI website without password protection on 19 June 2017, after reviewing the files to ensure confidential data remained restricted.
• The IAI Directorate has implemented a retrospective numbering system for Decisions, Resolutions, and documents to improve the monitoring of activities and the citation of these records in bibliographies and official documents.
• The IAI has established specific numbering guidelines for official documents based on agenda items, unofficial documents (marked 'INF'), and Decisions (using Roman numerals for the meeting number and Arabic numerals for the decision number).
