Report of the Directorate

The IAI Directorate has implemented several IT security and infrastructure upgrades, including a network reconfiguration, the installation of anti-virus software, and the creation of a disaster recovery plan. The Directorate is seeking extraordinary funding of 30,000 USD to migrate its website from Wordpress to a more secure, database-driven content management system to improve data integration and user access. Additionally, the IAI is promoting international data exchange standards through collaborations with the Belmont Forum and the World Data System.

• The IAI Directorate conducted a review of its IT infrastructure starting in September 2017, resulting in the standardization of legally acquired software, the installation of anti-virus software on all servers and workstations, and a complete reconfiguration of the network system following a forensic security review.
• The IAI Directorate has implemented a data and information disaster recovery plan and a staff backup plan to protect information resources and ensure service continuity.
• The current IAI website, based on Wordpress and flat HTML pages, is deemed insufficient due to security vulnerabilities related to plugins, a non-intuitive interface, and difficulties in harmonizing information categories.
• The IAI Directorate is requesting 30,000 USD in extraordinary funding to convert the website to a fully database-driven system with a more flexible and secure content management system (CMS).
• To improve data interoperability, the IAI is promoting international information exchange formats and collaborating with the Belmont Forum and the World Data System, including participation in a Latin America and the Caribbean Scientific Data Management Workshop in April 2018.
